Investment grade, high carat gold Roman Marriage (wedding) ring, circa 2nd Century.
This museum quality object arrived with us direct from a private collection in Ireland and comes with a full certificate of authenticity and a proven history.
Rarely does a piece like this finds its way to the market place and is usually the reserve of the highest end auction houses, realising fabulous prices.
I have owned and sold many Roman period rings in the past, this is positively the best of them all. Its subject is second to none; a beautiful young Roman couple hold hands as they pledge a marriage oath more almost 2,000 years ago.
I cannot imagine that a more unique and romantic gift can exist anywhere in the World and I have seen far lesser examples sell for more than three times my asking price in the past.
For me, this is a far better object than some of the English Iconographic rings that can fetch north of £20,000 at auction. A romantic object such as this can be worn and given today as a wedding ring - or just as a pledge to a loved one.
Such is the condition of this piece that I am happy to guarantee its durability enough for it to be worn on a daily basis. This is indeed a very rare find.
The ring dates circa 2nd century which is known as the "Classical" or "Hellenistic" period.
Weight is 18.3 grams, condition is superb. Shank internal size is approx 20mm diameter and the gallery area measures 15mm high by 18mm wide.
We shall supply both authenticity documentation and an insurance valuation certificate (for twice our asking price) which is considered to be very reasonable indeed considering this objects rarity, beauty, condition and romantic symbolism.
This is a wonderful and unique chance to acquire a truly beautiful thing. Once it has gone, it will be gone forever. And you can safely invest in this object knowing full well that your money is well spent, and extremely safe.
